Virender Sehwag demands identity of “drunk” player who risked Yuzvendra Chahal’s life

Yuzvendra Chahal was a part of Mumbai Indians in his initial days of IPL. Chahal played only one season for MI in his time of three years with the team. He was later brought up by Royal Challengers Bangalore and continued playing for the franchise till 2021. However, during his stint with MI,  Chahal faced a near-death experience, which taught Chahal a valuable life lesson.

In a video shared by Rajasthan Royals on Twitter, Chahal spoke about a scary and life-threatening incident. Chahal said, when he was a part of MI, they had a match in Bangalore. At a get-together, which was held after the match, there was a player who was very drunk. Chahal insisted on not mentioning the name of the “drunk” player. He continued, and said, the player was very drunk, he looked at Chahal and called him. He then took Chahal outside and dangled him from the balcony.

“My hands were around him. Had I lost my grip, I was on the 15th floor. ” Chahal stated. Many people then came to get the situation under control. Chahal fainted, people gave him water and helped him to feel okay. After this incident, Yuzi felt that it was a narrow escape. He stated: “I realized how responsible you should be if you go out anywhere. Had there been the slightest of mistake, I would have fallen down,”.

Chahal learned a life lesson from this incident, to be always responsible. Many fans and cricketers came in support of Chahal. The veteran Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, demanded Chahal to reveal the “drunk” players’ identity.

Sehwag tweeted: “Important to reveal the name of the player who as per Chahal did this to him in a drunk state. If true, this cannot be treated as fun, important to know what happened and what action was taken considering the seriousness of this.”
