Virat Kohli’s promising knock came to an end in dramatic fashion during the IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Kohli was dismissed for 43 runs off 35 balls in the 15th over, with the scoreboard reading 131/4.
The dismissal came off the bowling of Azmatullah Omarzai, who pulled off an excellent caught-and-bowled effort. As per the updated commentary, Kohli was slightly obstructed by the non-striker while looking for a quick single, but the obstruction was unintentional. Kohli eventually ended up offering a return catch, which Azmatullah safely pouched.
Kohli’s innings included four boundaries and provided momentum to RCB’s innings. His wicket halted a valuable partnership with Liam Livingstone and came at a crucial stage as RCB looked to accelerate.
At 14.5 overs, Jitesh Sharma has joined Livingstone at the crease, with RCB placed at 131/4.
