Venkatesh Iyer reveals that Sourav Ganguly played an important role in his life

Youngster Venkatesh Iyer revealed that he always wanted to play for the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise because of his idol Sourav Ganguly.

Venkatesh Iyer has been the talk of the town and surely of the entire Indian Premier League season, with his fearless batting performance shocking the bowling unit completely. He debuted against Royal Challengers Bangalore and played an extraordinary inning by scoring 41 runs and later bolstered the Mumbai Indians as well on Thursday by dominating the bowlers by scoring a quickfire 51 runs only just in his second match. He is one of the most explosive batsmen’s in the future of the sport. In a press conference, the young player from Madhya Pradesh revealed that Sourav Ganguly is his idol and has been inspired by his batting style and technique.

In the latest press conference, Venkatesh was been seen praising and respecting his idol like no other as he mentioned “I am a huge fan of Dada. He has got millions of fans across the globe and I am one of them. Dada has played a huge role in my batting indirectly. I used to bat right-handed when I was young.”

He also later added by mentioning “He has played a huge role, unknowingly, in my life and I am grateful for that”. Venkatesh Iyer was all in smiles after playing two crucial innings as he has completely lifted KKR’s winning spirit back with the coaches and everyone was thoroughly impressed. Iyer also said that Kolkata Knight Riders was his dream team and always wanted to show his talent under this franchise. It was certainly a dream come true moment for him as he looks to provide explosive innings throughout the tournament and hope that his team makes it to the playoffs this year.
