Punjab Kings announced on Monday that Sunil Joshi had been hired as their spin-bowling coach (January 16). Joshi, a former left-arm spinner for India, was a member of the selection committee for senior men until recently. Before serving as the spin-bowling coach of the Punjab team in 2019, Joshi had also served in a similar role with Bangladesh. Additionally, he served as a coach for Ranji teams in Hyderabad, Jammu and Kashmir, and Assam.
Chetan Sharma replaced Joshi as the chief selector of the India team in 2020, but Joshi remained a member of the panel until the new one was announced in January 2023.
Joshi is now a member of the coaching staff led by Trevor Bayliss, who took over for Anil Kumble. A few months ago, The Kings also changed the captain, releasing Mayank Agarwal and replacing him with Shikhar Dhawan.
