Former captain of the Sahara Pune Warriors and Kolkata Knight Riders, Ganguly left the Indian cricket governing body in October of last year after his terms as board president expired.
The former opening batter and former Australia captain Ricky Ponting will reunite. Ganguly and Ponting played together for the first time in the IPL for KKR in the inaugural season after being rivals on the cricket field. In the IPL 2019, the two met up at DC, where Ponting served as the team’s head coach and Ganguly as the team mentor.
