Former West Indies player Dwayne Bravo announced his retirement from the IPL in December 2022, after 14 seasons. From 2008 to 2010, he played for the Mumbai Indians, where he took 26 wickets in 30 matches at an economy of 8.20. In 2011, he joined the Chennai Super Kings and became a regular member of the franchise. After more than 11 years with the Yellow Army, the veteran picked up 154 wickets in 130 matches at an economy of 8.32. Currently, the former West Indies player leads the cash-rich T20 league in wickets with 183 in 161 games at an economy of 8.38.
Former Sri Lanka speedster Lasith Malinga, who played in the competition from 2009 to 2019, produced a number of bowling masterclasses to help his franchise win. Malinga had a 10-year career in which he took 170 wickets in 122 matches at an excellent economy rate of 7.14. With these incredible figures, he is also the tournament’s second-highest wicket-taker.
Yuzvendra Chahal is the IPL’s third-highest wicket-taker, with 166 wickets in 131 games and an economy rate of 7.61. From 2014 to 21, he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), where he took 139 wickets in 113 matches at an economy rate of 7.58. He played for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2022 and won the Purple Cap with 27 wickets in 17 games.
In the IPL, Amit Mishra has played a pivotal role and some excellent cricket. The bowler has 166 wickets in 154 matches at an economy of 7.36 thanks to his diligence and skill. Previously, he was a member of the defunct Deccan Chargers (DC), Delhi Capitals (DC), and Sunrisers Hyderabad. (SRH).
Piyush Chawla has represented prestigious IPL franchises such as the Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Mumbai Indians. In his extensive IPL career, the veteran leggie has taken 157 wickets in 165 games at an economy rate of 7.88. In his first IPL season in 2008, he finished among the top five wicket-takers with 17 wickets in 15 games at an economy of 8.30.
