TATA IPL 2022: Yuzvendra Chahal joins Lasith Malinga in the elite list of fastest 100 IPL wickets

The Rajasthan Royals’ Yuzvendra Chahal also holds the Purple Cap as the top wicket-taker in the IPL 2022.

Yuzvendra Chahal of the Rajasthan Royals has become the fourth bowler to take 100 IPL wickets in the fastest time of just 83 innings. Former MI bowler and now Rajasthan Royals’ fast bowling coach Lasith Malinga is the first to take 100 wickets in the fastest time of just 83 innings.

Yuzvendra Chahal, the leg-spinner for Rajasthan Royals (RR), lit up the Brabourne Stadium on Sunday with a magnificent hat-trick in the final overs of the run chase against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Chahal came in to deliver the 17th over with Kolkata leading the chase of 218 runs at 178/4, taking four wickets and conceding only two runs to turn the game around.

Yuzvendra Chahal spun his web to dismiss Shreyas in the 17th over for a hat-trick to turn the match around. Chahal became the fifth RR bowler in the IPL to win a hat-trick.

The Rajasthan Royals’ Yuzvendra Chahal also holds the Purple Cap as the top wicket-taker in the IPL 2022. So far in the tournament, Chahal has taken 18 wickets in seven matches.
