Wasim Jaffer, a former Indian cricketer, is concerned about Virat Kohli after his consecutive golden ducks and unconvincing runs scored so far in the ipl 2022, and expects him to rest for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022.
Speaking in the ‘Not Just Cricket’ show, Wasim said, “We might not see Virat Kohli in Asia Cup 2022 as he should take some rest after Indian T20 league. That would be very helpful for him to come good. There will be a lot of cricket with T20 World Cup 2022 coming up”.
Virat Kohli used to have a knack of pounding up runs with ease. From the first delivery, he was up and running, creaming the ball through the boundaries and flicking it neatly, securely around mid-wicket before picking up the pace with delicacy.
Kohli had a rough start to the IPL 2022 season, scoring 41*, 12, 5, and 48 runs. He had looked pretty good, particularly in the 48 vs Mumbai Indians, thus there were hints of a massive knock. The 32-year-old, who had stepped down as RCB’s captain and India’s skipper in the previous year, was anticipated to reclaim his savage form.
Instead, he only managed one run in three deliveries against Chennai Super Kings, then 12 runs in 14 balls against Delhi Capitals. Then came the disaster, a golden duck against the Lucknow Super Giants, followed by a golden duck against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
