Washington Sundar, an outstanding all-rounder, will play his 100th T20 match for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Lucknow Super Giants in today’s IPL tournament. He was taken by SRH for a whopping 8.75 crores.
When he emerged into the Indian Premier League in 2017, Washington Sundar, had all the traits one would want from an Indian cricketer. An all-rounder who can bat anywhere in the order, can give you meaningful overs in the powerplay and quite handy in the field, Sundar is a three-dimensional player, something which is an asset to any squad.
He joined the Rising Pune Supergiant (2017) as a substitute for the injured Ravi Ashwin after going unsold in 2017. He was the talk of the town at the end of the competition, having taken eight wickets in 11 matches. The capacity to contain, more than the wickets, drew the attention of the onlooker.
When the SunRisers Hyderabad take on the Lucknow Super Giants at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai, they will be looking for their first win of the tournament. The KL Rahul-led LSG, like SRH, lost their first match of the season.
