TATA IPL 2022: Virat Kohli captains RCB against Lucknow Super Giants; Faf du Plessis injured

RCB’s captain, Faf du Plessis was injured while his brilliant knock of 96 runs off 64 balls against Lucknow Super Giants. Virat Kohli, who handed over the captaincy to Faf this season was seen captaining the side, in Faf’s absence.

On Tuesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore was to face Lucknow Super Giants in the 31st match of the league. Faf du Plessis played a stunning inning of 96 runs off 64 balls, including 11 fours and two sixes, helping RCB reach a total of 181 runs. During his spectacular knock, Faf was hit by a throw by KL Rahul, it is speculated that it caused an injury to Faf, due to which he didn’t appear to field in the second inning. In Faf’s absence, RCB’s all-time favorite Virat Kohli was captaining the side. Virat has been the face of RCB for years and watching him captain again bought immense joy to RCB’s fans. One of the fans, took it to Twitter, posting a picture of Virat captaining, and wrote: ” How we missed saying, Captain”. Another fan wrote: “Forever my captain”.
