Umesh Yadav takes his 50th powerplay wicket in the IPL after dismissing Mayank Agarwal, moving closer to Zaheer Khan’s record of 52 wickets. He’s made the most of the PowerPlay thus far, keeping a 7.50 economy rate.
Despite being a seasoned campaigner, Umesh has spent the previous four to five seasons with three different clubs. He only played two games for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2020, and he did not play a single game for Delhi Capitals the following season.
Even in the big auction, Umesh remained unsold in the first two rounds before being selected in the third round by KKR, his former club where he played from 2014 to 2017. And McCullum, who has played against Umesh before, feels that his considerable expertise will come in helpful.
Umesh bhai making first-over wickets a habit! 😍
