Mumbai Indians batsmen once again performed poorly in the mega encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians being played in Maharashtra Cricket Association, Pune. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to bowl first and invited Mumbai Indians to bat first. Coming to bat, the pair of Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma gave a good start to Mumbai Indians but both of them could not take advantage of the batsman’s start and lost their wickets one after the other. Mumbai’s first wicket fell for 50 runs and after that, they lost their 5 wickets in the next 12 runs. After the 50-run partnership of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, Mumbai’s batting fell apart, due to which the team’s position was very bad and the team could reach only 140 runs. In all, Suryakumar Yadav played a swashbuckling inning with the help of which Mumbai managed to reach a respectable score of 151. Suryakumar Yadav scored 68 runs in this innings and batted at a tremendous strike rate of 183.
David Willey, Wanindu Hasaranga, Akashdeep, and Harshal Patel bowled brilliantly for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Apart from all these bowlers, all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed also bowled tightly and did not give opportunities to the Bangalore batsmen to score more runs.
