Suresh Raina, a former CSK player, took to Twitter ahead of Chennai Super Kings’ victory over Mumbai Indians on Thursday to congratulate the squad and applaud MS Dhoni’s magnificent final innings, which carried the team to its second win of the season.
Separately, he praised former CSK captain MS Dhoni on Twitter, tweeting, “ Well- played, MS Dhoni skipper”.
CSK won by three wickets at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai, with MS Dhoni scoring the final 16 runs required off four balls to keep MI’s losing streak intact.
Daniel Sams hit powerful knocks in the chase for 156, but Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu batted effectively to carry the game to the end, where Dhoni took over and delivered the momentum.
When CSK needed 42 runs off the last three overs, Dhoni and Pretorius struck powerful blows, and while the latter exited, Dhoni had no trouble finishing the game in style with a boundary.
The most awaited match of the tournament #CSKvMI. A much needed innings by our very own @msdhoni bhai at the end, always a delight to watch! Congratulations to the whole #CSK team on another massive win 💛 #yellove pic.twitter.com/2H0GTZh3xX
