In the TATA IPL 2022’s first match for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, and Washington Sunder bowled four no-balls in the powerplay. Four No balls in the powerplay by these prominent players is an implausible scenario in a T20 match.
Sunrisers Hyderabad was to face Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday at MCA stadium, Pune. Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bowl first. The powerplay didn’t go as planned by Sunrisers as they gave up 58 runs in the first six overs and weren’t able to get any wicket. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowlers for Hyderabad. Bhuvi just gave eight runs in his two-over spell. However, he bowled two No balls, which is very unlikely to see. Umrah Malik conceded 21 runs in his first over; his over included a No ball as well.
Additionally, Washington Sundar, playing his first match for Sunrisers Hyderabad, started his spell with No ball and also went on to concede 18 runs in the same over.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals had a dream start with Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal dominating the game. The opening duo took Rajasthan’s total to 58 for no loss at the end of the powerplay. After this brilliant start, Rajasthan would be eyeing a fighting total of 200+ runs.
