TATA IPL 2022: Shreyas Iyer powers KKR to a good start

Despite losing two early wickets, KKR scored 54/2 after the end of the powerplay.

After restricting Punjab Kings at a total of 137 runs, Kolkata Knight Riders are off to a good start; they score at 54/2 after the end of the powerplay. Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer opened the innings for KKY. Rahane looked in great touch before he lost his wicket to a quick delivery by Rabada. Captain Shreyas Iyer was the next man in and seemed to be settled from the first ball. He smashed 26 runs off just 11 balls, including five boundaries, providing KKR with the much-needed momentum. Venkatesh Iyer (3 off 7) didn’t look comfortable in the middle today and lost his wicket early to Odean Smith.

Punjab Kings would now look forward to bringing in Rahul Chahar, who can be considerable trouble for batsmen on any kind of pitch due to his variations.
