Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan have started their campaign on an amazing note as both the openers’ explosive innings gave Mumbai Indians the start they wanted. As the new season of the IPL begins, skipper Rohit Sharma has a new opening partner after Quinton de Kock joined the new franchise named Lucknow Super Giants. Ishan Kishan opened the innings with the skipper and it was such an amazing start for the young lad. Indian team captain Rohit Sharma is also looking in great touch as his strike rate was more than 130 in all these six overs (powerplay).
Mumbai posts 53 runs in the powerplay without losing a single wicket. Rohit Sharma hit 2 sixes, whereas his opening partner Ishan Kishan hit 1. It was not a good start for Delhi Capitals as their bowlers couldn’t get anyone out in the powerplay. Three debutants of Delhi Capitals namely Shardul Thakur, Khaleel Ahmed, and Kamlesh Nagarkoti bowled during these 6 overs but no one could give them (Delhi Capitals) the breakthrough.
The way Mumbai Indians are playing, it is looking very difficult for the bowlers to get them out. Mumbai will be looking to take advantage of these powerplay overs and will try to reach a big score from here.
