TATA IPL 2022: Ravichandran Ashwin’s promotion at top order fails RR’s batting order

RR’s spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin was once again promoted in the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore but the strategy failed.

Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore are up against each other on Tuesday, 26th April at MCA Stadium, Pune. Rajasthan Royals were invited to bat first by RCB after Faf du Plessis won the toss. Rajasthan Royals didn’t have the best start in the game as they lost three early wickets before the powerplay. Jos Buttler who has scored three centuries this season already had been departed early in this game.

However, after former RCB’s opening batter Devdutt Padikkal was dismissed early, RR sent Ravi Ashwin on the pitch at No.3. They have already used this strategy in this season before but this was the second time that Ashwin was promoted up the order. But the strategy of promoting him (Ravichandran Ashwin) in batting failed again. He did score 17 runs in 9 balls, hitting four 4’s but couldn’t get far and was dismissed by Mohammad Siraj.

Maybe Rajasthan Royals’ failed their batting order after they sent Ravi Ashwin at No.3 and thus they didn’t get the start they wanted in the game.
