Quinton de Kock of the Lucknow Super Giants becomes the first South African player to reach 800 boundaries in T20 cricket.
Before getting dismissed in the 45th match of the IPL 2022 against Delhi Capitals at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, he achieved this milestone by hitting three boundaries. Shardul Thakur dismissed him for 23 runs in 13 deliveries, including four boundaries and one six.
The last time Quinton and Shardul clashed was in the 15th match of the current season. De Kock, on the other hand, faced only three Thakur deliveries and took two singles to see him apart without taking chances.
In IPL history, the South African wicket-keeper batsman has had a lead over the Indian fast bowling all-rounder.
Quinton is presently in sixth place in the orange cap standings, having scored 294 runs in ten matches, with an average of 29.40 and a strike rate of 134.24.
