TATA IPL 2022: Punjab Kings sets a target of 181 runs for Chennai Super Kings

Punjab Kings score 180/8 owing to Liam Livingstone’s 60 and Dhawan’s 33.

After two early wickets, Liam Livingstone and Shikhar Dhawan successfully counter-attacked the Chennai spinners. A typical MS Dhoni run-out sees Bhanuka Rajapaksa go early. Mukesh Choudhary, a left-handed bowler, struck first as Mayank Agarwal departed.

Liam Livingstone pitched in with several boundaries and sixes to keep the scoreboard ticking out, taking Punjab beyond 100 in the 10th over. After a blazing 60 off 32 deliveries, Rayudu caught him after a fantastic throw from Jadeja.

Odean Smith, who stunned the stadium in the first match, joined in the middle and been knocked out by Chris Jordan for 3 runs in 7 balls.

CSK’s Chris Jordan has grabbed two magnificent wickets in four overs. Dwaine Pretorius has also taken two crucial wickets in four overs.

The reigning champions have had a bad start to this year’s campaign, losing to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2022 season opener. Following the loss to KKR, CSK was defeated by debutants Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), losing by six wickets.
