Another Magnificent performance by the veteran Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav restricts Punjab Kings to a total of 137. PBKS was all-out at the 18.2 overs and couldn’t even complete the quota of full 20 overs.
The decision of fielding first after winning the toss went great for KKR. Umesh Yadav started the innings by bagging Mayank Agarwal’s wicket in the first over. Bhanuka Rajapaksa, the Srilankan pinch-hitter, was the next man in, who stormed his way up to a score of 31 in just nine deliveries. He smashed three consecutive sixes off Shivam Mavi before throwing away his wicket on the very next ball by playing a loose shot.
After Bhanuka departed, Liam Livingstone (19) was the only player who looked comfortable in the middle. The rest of the PBKS middle-order failed to deliver, causing the team to settle for a score of 137. At a moment, even the score of 137 wasn’t even looking achievable, but all thanks to Kagiso Rabada for an impressive cameo (25 off 16) at the end.
Umesh Yadav once again led the bowling attack and took four massive wickets. He finished his spell with figures of 4/23. Tim Southee (2 wickets), Shivam Mavi (1 wicket), Sunil Narine (1 wicket), and Andre Russell (1 wicket) were the other bowlers to bag a wicket.
