The Mumbai Indians’ 2022 Indian Premier League campaign was dealt a blow when overseas star Tymal Mills was declared out for the remainder of the season due to injury. Tristan Stubbs of South Africa has been named as the English pacer’s replacement for the remainder of the tournament. Mills took six wickets in five matches for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022.
Mills appeared in five games for MI this season, taking six wickets while also being on the pricey side of the economy cheval. In the meantime, Stubbs, his replacement, has played in 17 T20 matches and scored 506 runs with a strike rate of 157.14. Stubbs also had a strong domestic season, scoring 293 runs with a strike rate of 183.12 with an average of 48.83.
The preceding game was won by the Rohit Sharma-led team, ending the curse. They lost their first eight games in the IPL 2022 before easily defeating the Rajasthan Royals. In their next match, they will face the table-topping Gujarat Titans. This will be the first meeting between the two clubs this season.
