TATA IPL 2022: Matheesha Pathirana replaces Chennai Super Kings’ pacer Adam Milne

Sri Lankan fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana has now been signed as a replacement for Adam Milne, who has been ruled out of the rest of the IPL 2022 due to a hamstring injury.

Chennai Super Kings pacer Adam Milne has been ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season due to a hamstring injury, and the team has signed talented Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana as a replacement.

“Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have signed Matheesha Pathirana as a replacement for New Zealand pacer Adam Milne for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Milne suffered a hamstring injury in CSK’s first match against Kolkata Knight Riders and has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament. His replacement Pathirana, is a young 19-year old medium pacer from Sri Lanka who was part of Sri Lanka’s U19 World Cup squads in 2020 and 2022. He will join CSK at the price of INR 20 Lakh,” IPL stated in an official release.

Pathirana, 19, was a player of Sri Lanka’s Under-19 World Cup squad in the West Indies this year, where he played four matches and took seven wickets at an average of 27.28 with an economy rate of 6.16.
