Marcus Stoinis of the Lucknow Super Giants has surpassed Rohit Sharma as the second batsman in the Indian Premier League to have the highest strike rate in the 19th/20th over (having faced a minimum of 200 balls).

Lucknow Super Giants posted a total of 176/7 against Kolkata Knight Riders at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Saturday, owing to a stunning half-century from Quinton de Kock and some late-game battling from Marcus Stoinis.

In their initial selection signings for IPL 2022, Lucknow Super Giants selected Stoinis as one of three players. LSG selected Stoinis, along with skipper KL Rahul and youngster Ravi Bishnoi, for INR 9.2 crore.

In the IPL, the 32-year-old’s great season was with the Delhi Capitals in 2020. In 17 games, he scored 352 runs at a solid strike rate of 148.52 and got 13 wickets at 21.77.
