TATA IPL 2022: KL Rahul enters an unwanted list of records; becomes sixth Indian captain to do so

K L Rahul of the Lucknow Super Giants became the sixth Indian captain to record three ducks in a single season when he was dismissed for run out while facing his first ball in the 53rd match of the Indian Premier League 2022.

Harbhajan Singh (2012), Gautham Gambhir (2014), Virat Kohli (2014), Ravichandran Ashwin (2018), and Rohit Sharma (2018) are the other five captains on the list.

Despite this, Rahul has been one of the most consistent batsmen in the ongoing season, accumulating 451 runs from ten matches at an average of 56.38 and a strike rate of 145.02, including two hundreds and as many half-centuries. In fact, he has two centuries this season, both against the Mumbai Indians.

While the Super Giants had hoped for a sensational innings from their skipper KL Rahul as he proceeded to climb the Orange Cap list, he ended up striking a duck.
