David Warner may have been given the strike by Rovman Powell in order for him to go for a century against his former franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. Warner, though, being the team player that he is, advised the youngster to avoid taking a single but instead go all out.
“I got winded at the end. I asked David Warner if I should get a single to allow his 100 but he told me, ‘that’s not how the game is played’, and told me to go big,” Powell stated in an interview broadcasters.
Rovman Powell, a West Indian hard-hitter, pummelled his path to an unbeaten 67 off 35 balls to help Delhi Capitals reach 207/3.
Warner, on the other hand, saved his best for his former squad, slamming 12 boundaries and three sixes in his 92nd over. The pair’s unbroken century stand propelled DC to an outstanding total.
DC scored 19 runs off the last over to reach a total of over 200. Powell struck 6 sixes and three boundaries.
In IPL 2022, Rovman Powell struck his first fifty for Delhi Capitals against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He struck five sixes in 30 balls to get his half-century.
