The Royal Challengers Bangalore took to Twitter to express their delight at the arrival of Glenn Maxwell and added a video captioning, “He’s back and he’s raring to go! Here’s a minute of Maxwell sending balls to the orbit at practice”.
RCB have won their last two matches after losing their first, and will be aided even more by the arrival of Australian ace Glenn Maxwell. Last season, the Australian all-rounder was a bombshell for RCB, and the team decided to keep him ahead of the IPL big auction. Sherfane Rutherford, who has 33 runs in three games this season, might be the man to be replaced Maxwell in the RCB starting lineup.
Last season, the Australian star was RCB’s leading run scorer with 513 runs, and the team’s management will be looking for more of it this season. Maxwell hit a record-breaking 154 not out off only 64 balls in the BBL earlier this year, and that will serve as a reminder to RCB’s IPL foes.
When the Royal Challengers Bangalore take on the winless Mumbai Indians at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Saturday night, they will be seeking for their third win of the IPL 2022 campaign.
