TATA IPL 2022: “He has potential to win the matches alone,” Suresh Raina showers praise on Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant is yet to click big runs in the TAT IPL 2022 but the left-handed batsman has still won backing from one of the legends in IPL, Suresh Raina.

Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals is yet to pick up pace in the TATA IPL 2022 as the side is dangling at 7th position after losing 5 out of 9 matches played while winning the four. Rishabh Pant is undoubtedly the x-factor of the team as a batsman who can turn the games around for the team. Rishabh Pant hasn’t been able to keep up with the momentum the team gathered during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. Delhi Capitals looked cold after losing the likes of Shimron Hetmyer, and Kagiso Rabada. The side is surely feeling the heat in the absence of Anrich Nortje.

Rishabh Pant, too, hasn’t clicked too many runs. The left-handed batsman has scored just 234 runs in 9 outings. His form is clearly dipping as a result of captaincy, but Suresh Raina, who has ruled IPL since the inaugural edition of the league, has backed Pant to be a big knock away for Delhi Capitals. Suresh Raina also added that the way Pant has managed to use Kuldeep Yadav defines his captaincy standards.

“Rishabh Pant is a big match player, he has utilized Kuldeep so well – as a batsman, he will click soon, a big knock is coming – he has the potential to win the matches alone”.
