After winning the toss against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 35th match of the TATA IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya decided to bat first, being the first captain to do so in this season, as captains winning the toss had only chosen to bowl in the previous 34 matches.
Due to a groyne injury, regular captain Hardik Pandya was forced to withdraw from the team’s most recent match against Chennai Super Kings, but stand-in captain Rashid Khan led the side to a three-wicket victory over the four-time winners. With the bat, David Miller excelled, scoring an undefeated 94 off 51 deliveries. The Titans have won three games in a row, and Kolkata’s bowlers will have their work cut out for them against a confident batting line-up.
Kolkata, the two-time IPL champions, have dropped to seventh place in the points table after three consecutive losses. Gujarat, on the other hand, has only lost one game in the 10-team tournament and currently sits in second place in the standings.
