Gujarat Titans’ David Miller is set to play his 100th IPL match in the 51st game of the 15th edition of the league against Mumbai Indians at Brabourne stadium on Friday.
After AB de Villiers and Faf du Plessis, he will become the third South African player to appear in 100 IPL matches.
Miller has 276 runs at an average of 69.00 with a strike rate of 150.81 in nine matches of this season so far.
His greatest score of 94* off 51 balls came against the Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling three-wicket win.
From 2012 to 2015, David Miller had some of his greatest seasons. His highest IPL score was achieved almost a decade ago, in 2013. At the PCA Stadium in Mohali, Chandigarh, KXIP faced the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 51st match of the IPL 2013. The toss was won by KXIP, who chose to field first.
When David Miller walked in, the Punjab Kings were down 51-3. Chase-master David Miller went on a wild binge, scoring 101* off just 38 deliveries, fully embracing his power. He had eight fours and seven sixes in his knock.
Miller has failed to find his swing in recent years, and as a result, has struggled to knock spinners out of the fence. After a shaky start for the Gujarat Titans (GT), in which he scored 68 runs in the first four games with a below-average strike rate of 123, Miller has come back strong recently to justify his selection as the team’s finisher-in-chief.
