On Thursday, Gujarat Titans’ Captain Hardik Pandya walked off the field after bowling three delivers off his third over. Vijay Shankar took over and bowled the rest of the deliveries. Pandya incurred an injury in his bowling hand while fielding. He was seen putting ice on his hand ahead of making the decision to bowl his third over. Before, walking off Pandya took the crucial wicket to James Neesham to secure victory for Gujarat Titans. He took Neesham’s catch on his own ball. The catch put more pressure on Hardik’s bowling hand and forced him to leave the field. Pandya bowled a superb spell of 2.3 overs, giving away just 18 runs.
In the first inning, Pandya scored 87 runs off 52 balls, taking Gujarat’s total to 192/4. The experts were all pleased by Pandya’s batting techniques as he was seen playing proper cricketing shots and showing temperament. After being assigned the captaincy of Gujarat Titans, Pandya has been seen playing up the order and scoring crucial knocks for the side.
If Pandya’s injury is serious, it can be a big blow for the team, with Hardik being the only consistent batter at top of the order.
