Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Dinesh Karthik has grabbed 22 incredible wickets so far against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.
Dinesh Karthik, who was purchased in the auction by Royal Challengers Bangalore, has excelled as a finisher for his new club thus far.
He spent the previous three seasons with the Kolkata Knight Riders, playing the same role but not consistently. He began the season by putting the finishing touches on the innings, hitting 32 off only 14 balls to help his club pass the 200-run barrier – albeit in a losing cause – against Punjab Kings.
Karthik, like numerous other keepers during the Dhoni era, may have lost out on playing at the greatest level during his prime. After Dhoni’s departure from Test cricket in late 2014, the opportunity arose, however Wriddhiman Saha was chosen ahead of him. Karthik may have missed the bus with the whites due to Saha’s near-perfect stumping and gritty with the willow, but his batting talent has maintained him on the edge of the Indian ODI team.
