Delhi Capitals were busy throughout the TATA IPL mega auction as they were keen to get back their core players. They were in a bidding war for their star batsmen Shikhar Dhawan, experienced bowler R Ashwin, and pacemen Kagiso Rabada, but failed to get either of them back due to their constrained purse. The loss of Dhawan will not affect them so much as they acquired the Australian batter David Warner at a bargain price of 6.25 crores.
Despite the absence of Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer, the DC still have one of the best top fours in the league. They also have plenty of bowling options to choose from in their bowling department, with three left-arm pacemen in Chetan Sakariya, Khaleel Ahmed, and Mustafizur Rahman. If they can get their balance and choice of the starting eleven right, Delhi Capitals can be a formidable side for the upcoming IPL season.
