TATA IPL 2022: Deepak Hooda opens up on his fight with Krunal Pandya

Hooda was signed for a staggering INR 5.75 crore by the Lucknow franchise in the IPL 2022 mega auction, while Pandya was one of the major acquisitions with a bid of INR 8.25 crore.

Both players made news in 2021 for a disagreement between them while playing for the Baroda squad in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 event last year, which surprised cricket fans. Hooda withdrew from the Baroda squad after accusing Baroda captain Krunal of insulting him in front of his colleagues and other state teams at Vadodara.

“Krunal Pandya is like my brother, and brothers do fight. We are playing with one aim, which is to win games for LSG,” said Hooda to the media in an interview. He further added, “Just like everyone even my dream is to represent India at World Cup, however, my job is deliver good performances and leave the rest for the selectors to decide.”
“I’m an all-rounder and along with the bat, my target is to perform well with the ball too and I don’t think anything else apart from this,” he added.

While Lucknow’s Deepak Hooda and IPL newcomer Ayush Badoni dominated the first innings with their respective half-centuries, cricket fans were treated to a rekindled relationship between Hooda and Krunal Pandya in the second. During the second innings, Hooda and Pandya were seen hugging after Hooda took a superb catch to eliminate Gujarat opener Shubman Gill.

Jos Buttler and R Ashwin wound up on the same club in the Indian Premier League big auction, which had many twists and turns. Krunal Pandya and Deepak Hooda were signed by Lucknow Super Giants, which was an exciting development.
