David Warner of the Delhi Capitals has the highest strike-rate on the powerplay this season, with a 171 strike-rate among batsmen who have scored at least 100 runs.
Warner also scored 1,000 runs against Punjab Kings in a recent match, becoming only the second player in IPL history to achieve it against a single franchise.
Warner is the only overseas player to score over 5500 runs in the tournament, with AB de Villiers of South Africa coming in second with 5162 runs. This milestone was also completed by the left-hander in the fastest time.
Despite starting the season as captain and being a constant in the Sunrisers Hyderabad since 2014, Warner is definitely enjoying his change of team in the IPL, having joined Delhi after being unexpectedly dismissed during last year’s tournament at Sunrisers.
On Thursday, the Delhi Capitals will face Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium to begin the second half of the Indian Premier League 2022. The Rishabh Pant-led team was unimpressive in the first half, winning only three of their seven games.
Last week, the DC camp was affected with COVID-19, which is one of the reasons for the team’s challenges. Now that the players have healed, DC will look to start over.
