IPL 2022: Daniel Sams leads with most wickets in powerplay for MI

His best IPL numbers so far are 4 for 30, when he removed four of the top five hitters against Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing season.

In the ongoing IPL 2022, Mumbai Indians’ Daniel Sams becomes the franchise’s leading wicket taker in the powerplay innings.

Sams now has seven wickets in the first six overs of the innings after dismissing Abhishek Sharma in the third over of the 65th match of the ongoing season against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Sams has also conceded 23 runs in the given three overs to deliver of the powerplay on Tuesday.

Followed by him, Jasprit Bumrah has taken 3 wickets in the powerplay.

Sams had a poor start to the season, and it appeared like he would not play this year again.

MI captain Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, believed in him, and the all-rounder has been outstanding. In his last six games for MI, the Australian has taken 10 wickets and is undoubtedly key for two of the squad’s three victories this season.

His tall stature and remarkable ability to drive the ball have served him well against some challenging batting lineups. Throughout the game, the Australian all-rounder has displayed a combination of full and short deliveries, as well as well-executed slower deliveries.

His best IPL numbers so far are 4 for 30, when he removed four of the top five hitters against Chennai Super Kings. In addition, in the 2022 season, Sams took seven wickets against CSK. In their second match, he took 3 for 16 and eliminated each of the top three – Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Moeen Ali.
