Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be up against each other in the 15th season of IPL on Tuesday, 12th April at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai. RCB’s star bowler Harshal Patel is unavailable for this game against CSK as he has left the squad following his sister’s demise just after their game against Mumbai Indians on 9th April. Harshal Patel is one of the most important players of RCB since last year and thus, the franchise retained the Indian pacer before the mega auction. As Harshal Patel won’t be available for the game against CSK, it will be interesting to see who can replace the pacer in the team.
Three bowlers who can replace Harshal Patel in the team against CSK on Tuesday (12th April 2022):
1. Siddarth Kaul: Former SRH and Punjab Kings’ bowler Siddarth Kaul can replace Harshal Patel in the playing XI against CSK as he is a well-experienced bowler. During his time at Sunrisers Hyderabad, he used to bowl in the powerplay and also used to take some crucial wickets in the first six. But still, RCB is searching for a death bowler, and looking at Kaul’s stats, his death bowling is not much effective.
2. Chama Milind: Chama Milind can also be a potential replacement for Harshal Patel as the 27-year old is a good pacer and has also played in the Under-19 Indian team. Well, looking at his experience it is another question mark for Royal Challengers Bangalore whether he can bowl in the death or can he be that effective against CSK on Tuesday.
3. Karn Sharma: Karn Sharma who has won three IPL titles with three different teams can also replace Harshal Patel. Despite being a spin bowler RCB can think of taking him (Karn Sharma) in the playing XI as three pacers namely Mohammad Siraj, Akash Deep, and David Willey already play in the team. RCB has only one spin bowling option in the team i.e. Wanindu Hasaranga and including Karn in the team can give them more options.
