Chennai Super Kings set a challenging target of 211 for Lucknow Super Giants with Robin Uthappa’s 50, Shivam Dube’s 49, Moeen Ali’s 35 and Dhoni’s thundrous strikes.
Before being broken by Bishnoi, Ambati Rayudu and Shivam Dube formed an important partnership for the fourth wicket. Rayudu was unfortunately dismissed by Bishnoi for 27 runs from 20 deliveries.
Ravi Bishnoi trapped Robin Uthappa leg before as he walks back after a scorching 50 from 27 balls. After the umpire announced not out, Bishnoi asked KL Rahul to reassess the situation. The delivery skidded across the edge and landed on the front leg. Moeen Ali, who reached 35 before being bowled by Avesh Khan, backed him up brilliantly. In the powerplay, Ruturaj Gaikwad went out cheaply on 1.
Chennai put forth a terrific batting effort on an excellent batting surface. They got off to a fast start, and 200 was always a possibility once they got going. Lucknow have a difficult challenge ahead of them, but they have a strong batting lineup and the circumstances are ideal for batting. They do, though, need their top order to go off today.
Both clubs are coming off of losses in their respective opening matches. CSK and LSG both lost after batting first at the Wankhede. At the neighbouring CCI venue, conditions are forecast to be similar, with heavy dew expected in the second half of the game.
