There were many doubts over South African gunner Anrich Nortje’s presence in IPL 15, since fans did not expect to see Anrich participate this season owing to an unfortunate injury.
However, according to rumours, Anrich will be eligible to play for his team, the Delhi Capitals, beginning with the third game of the season, as the management expects him to be fit by early April. Nortje might technically play in the encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants. Nortje has already arrived in Mumbai and has been quarantined for a few days.
Nortje, one of the most successful pacers for the Delhi squad in recent years, was retained by the franchise for INR 6.5 crore, and he was preferred over the more experienced Kagiso Rabada. However, Nortje’s ailment, the nature of which Cricket South Africa has not disclosed, has kept him out of international competition since November 2021.
