Ambati Rayudu, the right-hander batsman, on Sunday, during Chennai Super Kings’ match against the Gujarat Titans at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, has reached 4000 runs milestone in the Indian Premier League.
Rayudu made history by becoming the 10th Indian batsman to surpass 4000 runs in the Indian Premier League.
Rayudu is also the second-slowest player to achieve 4000 runs in 169 innings, after only Dinesh Karthik’s 188 innings.
Rayudu was 29 runs shy of the 4000-run barrier before his match against SRH.
The Super Kings had already released him two months before the huge auction, but he was then acquired back for INR 6.75 crores.
Gujarat Titans grabbed early wickets in Match 29 at the MCA Stadium in Pune, as Chennai Super Kings tries to comeback with Ruturaj Gaikwad. Before debutant Alzzari Joseph got the better of Moeen Ali in the third over, Mohammed Shami dismissed Robin Uthappa.
