Shubman Gill’s half-century powers KKR to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in a much win situation

The current Indian team test opener has completed his first fifty of the tournament as he bolsters the SRH bowling unit as they look on to this important victory.

In match no 49 of the VIVO Indian Premier League, is held between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders, where Sunrisers were sent to bat as they elected it too. They got to a very awful start against the bowling unit of the Kolkata Knight Riders as they got completely demolished by them. The middle-order again failed to show some quality batting against the spin duo of Shakib Al Hasan and Sunil Narine as they crumpled them into pieces. They ended their innings by scoring only 115-6 wickets, as this was one of the lowest scores of this year’s tournament. Kolkata Knight Riders opening pair of youngster Venkatesh Iyer and Shubman Gill had to get to a good start to qualify for the playoffs. They successfully did, but Venkatesh Iyer was sent home packing for 7 runs.

Shubman Gill then showed some incredible batting performance as he scored his half-century making it difficult for their Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling unit, as he was later out for 57 runs by Siddharth Kaul as he mistimed his shot-making it easy for Jason Holder. He played a sensational knock to make his team victory by 6 wickets over Sunrisers Hyderabad who have now lost 10 matches out of the last 12.

He indeed played a good knock as he led his team to victory, now capable of qualifying for the playoffs this year. Kolkata Knight Riders are definitely in the hunt for the last spot in the top 4, after Shubham Gill’s calm and epic performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
