Shakib Al Hasan marks his comeback to the KKR side with a great time on the field

Shakib went on to bowl a very tight spell of 4 overs giving away just 20 and took the important wicket of Abhishek Sharma.

Eoin Morgan after the defeat against Punjab Kings in their previous IPL match was severely criticized for his team selection. With Russel and Ferguson out with injury, Morgan decided to draft in an extra batsman instead of Shakib Al Hasan, who can both bat and bowl. Although, he corrected his mistake coming into the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad and it paid off immediately.

It was in the  7th over of the game, when Shakib came into the attack with SRH’s already in shatters. Like always, Kane Williamson was putting the pieces together to build up the innings alongside youngster Priyam Garg. Dabbing the ball into the space Williamson and Garg were trying to sneak in singles and were looking in great touch until SRH’s captain made an error in his judgment. He nudged a ball by Shakib to the mid-wicket region and tried to scamper through for a single. The Bangladeshi all-rounder was on to it early though and showed some great piece of fielding by hitting the stumps with the throw to dismiss the SRH Skipper.

Shakib then went on to bowl a very tight spell of 4 overs giving away just 20 and took the important wicket of Abhishek Sharma, who can turn into a menace if given a chance to settle in.

KKR had a great day with the ball in hand as they were able to restrict Sunrisers Hyderabad for just 115 runs. A win in this match will consolidate their spot on the 4th position on the table, and take them a step closer to qualifying for the Playoffs.
