On April 2, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will welcome the five-time champion Mumbai Indians in their opening game of the IPL 2023. Prior to being defeated by the Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 last year, RCB had advanced to the semifinals in the IPL 2022.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore had to contend with injury problems to some of their key players even before the IPL 2023 season began. After England all-rounder Will Jacks was ruled out and substituted by Michael Bracewell, the Royal Challengers Bangalore are concerned about the health of pacer Josh Hazlewood and batsman Rajat Patidar.
Patidar, who scored the game-winning century against LSG in the Eliminator last year, is battling a heel ailment. He will be absent for at least the first half of the IPL 2023 while he is presently at the NCA. Rajat Patidar took advantage of his chances in the IPL 2023 and later that year received a call-up to the Indian cricket team. He had not been bought during the IPL 2022 mega-auction and was summoned up to fill in for an injured player.
Maxwell has 814 runs in 28 IPL games since joining RCB in 2021, scoring at an average of 35.39. Although there are seven 50s in the total, his strike percentage in this area is 152.43. In the previous two seasons, no other RCB player has tallied as many or more runs. He has also taken nine wickets for the team with his off-spin. (ER: 7.5). Regarding Maxwell’s total IPL statistics, he has scored 2,319 runs in 110 games at a clip of 25.48. (50s: 13). He’s been hitting the ball at 153.88. In the tournament, he has 28 wickets and an 8.24 economy rate.
