RCB all-rounder Daniel Christian’s partner faces online abuse after the team’s loss, player shares screenshots on social media

Earlier, another Australian player, Glenn Maxwell had also posted on his Twitter account regarding fans being abusive and making social media a hard place for players.

The fans of Royal Challengers Bangalore have decided to target Dan Christian, an Australian allrounder, for his poor performance in Tuesday’s match, which lead to their team’s defeat at the hands of KKR.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, RCB failed to deliver with the bat. Their captain Virat Kohli, who opened the inning with Padikkal remained the highest run-scorer for his team with just 39 to his name. The rest of the team seem to be struggling on the slow track and just couldn’t keep up the run rate. After a sudden collapse of the middle order, the lower order batters like Christian and Harshal Patel were left with the task of taking their team to a respectable total. However, they failed miserably in doing that. As a result, RCB could only score 138 runs in their 20 overs. KKR’s batsman chased down the total in a relatively easy fashion and marched past the Bangalore boys, to meet Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 2.

RCB fans couldn’t contain their anger and frustration over another trophyless season. And they decided to vent it on the different social media platforms. One such incident was posted by Dan Christian on his Instagram account. He shared a story, asking people to visit his partner Jorgia and see the carnage of abuses hurled on her account by RCB fans. He further wrote, “I didn’t have a great game tonight, but that’s a sport. Please leave her out of it.”
