Punjab Kings buys the most expensive player in IPL history, Sam Curran, for a massive sum of INR 18.50 crore in the 2023 IPL auctions

The English all-rounder Sam Curran is all set to play for Punjab Kings in IPL 2023.

England all-rounder and a top performer in the IPL league, Sam Curran is been bought by Punjab Kings for INR 18.50 Crore Sam had a base price of ₹2 crore

Sam Curran, an English all-rounder, made his IPL debut in 2019 with Punjab Kings after placing third in the auction. In the T20 World Cup 2022, he was named the tournament’s best player. He was released by the Punjab Kings ahead of the 2020 IPL auction and purchased by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for Rs 5.5 crore that year.

The bidding war was started as soon as the player was presented. Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals were fighting and the price was 10 crores in no time. Then CSK came back and they fought with Rajasthan Royals. Mumbai decided to back out after the price went above 12 crore.

Sam Curran has become the most expensive buys in the history of IPL so far.

At last, Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings were fighting for Sam and this bidding battle was won by Punjab Kings.
