Gujarat Titans were dealt a blow as skipper Hardik Pandya failed to perform upon his return to the team after missing the previous game against Kolkata Knight Riders. Pandya’s wicket was taken by Harpreet Brar, who had been impressive throughout the match. Brar had earlier hit a six, bowled economically, and now added to his tally by taking out the Titans’ biggest hitter.
Pandya, who had looked to go big against the spinner, attempted an aerial shot but found Sam Curran at long-on. Curran made no mistake in catching the ball, sending Pandya back to the pavilion with just eight runs off 11 balls, including a single four. This was a disappointing return for Pandya, who was expected to make a significant impact upon his return to the team.
