PBKS in IPL 2023: Liam Livingstone to miss 1st game for Punjab Kings

Liam Livingstone won’t arrive in Mohali in time for the Shikhar Dhawan-led team’s season-opening match against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday, April 1.

A representative of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) reportedly informed that Livingstone, who was in Dubai for an off-season trip, will arrive in India the following week, most likely prior to their second match against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on April 5. Livingstone shared a photo of his practise exercise at Manchester’s Old Trafford on Wednesday.

As the squad already lacks wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow, who has been ruled out of the season, and Kagiso Rabada, who will only be arriving in India on April 3 due to international obligations, Livingstone’s departure makes things more difficult for head coach Trevor Bayliss and skipper Shikhar Dhawan.
