“Papa kehte hain tu karega”: Vaibhav Suryavanshi dedicates record-breaking IPL ton to family sacrifices

At just 14 years of age, Rajasthan Royals’ Vaibhav Suryavanshi etched his name into IPL history by smashing a stunning 35-ball century, becoming the second-fastest century scorer in IPL history. But behind this remarkable achievement lies a story of family sacrifice, resilience, and unconditional support.

Speaking after his milestone knock, an emotional Vaibhav revealed the extent to which his family has supported his cricketing journey. “Jo bhi kuch aaj main hoon, sirf apne parents ki wajah se hoon,” said Vaibhav.

He shared how his mother adjusts her entire day around his practice sessions — waking up at 2 AM to prepare for his training, sleeping only around 11 PM, managing household work, and barely catching three hours of sleep each day. His father, who quit his job to back his son’s dreams, personally oversees his schedule and training. Meanwhile, his elder brother has stepped up to handle the family’s financial responsibilities. “Papa lage hue hain mere peeche, ki ‘karega tu, karega tu’. Bhagwan sab dekhta hai. Mehnat karne wale ko kabhi asafalata nahi milti,” Vaibhav added, underlining the deep belief and sacrifices made by his family.

Vaibhav’s breathtaking century was not just a personal triumph but a testimony to the collective dream and relentless effort of his entire family. Every run, every shot reflected their journey of hope, struggle, and determination.

As Rajasthan Royals’ prodigy basks in the spotlight, he remains grounded, acknowledging that the success he is enjoying today is rooted firmly in the sacrifices of his parents and family.
