Kane Williamson who is all set to join the Sunrisers Hyderabad camp in UAE acknowledged that he is apprehensive as he gears up to leave for UAE. Thirteen members of the Chennai Super Kings including two players have added to his concerns as he prepared to fly out on Thursday and join SRH.
“That’s part of the reason why they made every team stay at a different hotel,” Williamson told ‘Radio New Zealand’. “But obviously that’s bad news. You don’t want to hear anybody has COVID. I hear they are predominantly asymptomatic so hopefully, through another lockdown period they can come through and will be okay.”
Williamson is amongst the 6 New Zealanders who will be featuring in IPL 2020 in UAE. “Obviously there’s a little bit of apprehension, certainly as you get nearer to the time. Now it’s two days out you start thinking you do have to be extremely vigilant and disciplined,” added Williamson.
The league is set to begin on 19th September and will conclude on 10th of November making this edition one of the longest. The matches will be played in three cities of emirates: Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
