Pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been denied NOC by the BCB after being approached by several IPL franchises. The BCB in view of the national side’s schedule has denied his participation in the league. Bangladesh is all set to tour Sri Lanka beginning next month, according to reports. The left-arm pacer was approached by Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders after their pacers withdrew from the sides.
Latish Malinga from MI and Harry Gurney were the two players who withdrew earlier. While James Pattinson has been confirmed as Malinga’s replacement KKR is yet to find a replacement.
“Yes, he (Mustafizur) had an offer from the IPL but we did not give him NOC as we have the Sri Lanka tour coming up,” BCB cricket operation chairman Akram Khan said.
He took 20 wickets in the 2019 World Cup and was a star bowler for the Bangladeshi side. Rahman has not played a Test for his national side since the World Cup and has only represented his country in ODI’s and T20. He was picked by the Mumbai Indians in the 2008 edition and took seven wickets in seven matches.
