
Chennai Super King’s captain MS Dhoni is one of the most loved cricketers in IPL and India and worldwide. And after all he has done for his franchise and country, everyone wants to keep seeing him on the field. But ever since the World Cup-winning captain announced his retirement from the International, fans worldwide are always worried about when the Maestro shall retire from the game. Considering his record with announcing retirement, everyone wants the player to have a proper farewell.
Although Dhoni has hinted about not retiring any soon after winning the 4th title with CSK in October 2021, the fans are always concerned about it. In a statement in the last season of IPL, the Wicketkeeper-batter told Simon Doull, during a pre-match conversation said that he would like to play his final game at Chepauk in front of his Chennai fans who have supported him over the years.
Recently Dhoni was speaking at a felicitation ceremony organized by CSK. It was held in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. In that function, according to PTI’s reports, Dhoni told the crowd about how he had managed his game and planned his retirement. He added that his last ODI on home soil was in Ranchi and that hopefully, the “last T20 will be in Chennai… whether next year or in five years.”
This has relieved his fans and given them new hope, as many of them were contemplating whether they had seen the last of one of the greatest of all times.
